Special letters
This letter, written in 1982 by Ray Reed—my boss and sales manager at Pickwick Records—holds a special place in my journey.
Ray was more than a manager; he was a mentor who taught me lessons that have stayed with me ever since.
This letter is one I hold closest to my heart.
Written in 2002 by my dear friend and partner Marv,
it marked the moment Kara and I left for Greenville, SC to stay near Luna and watch her grow.

This letter, that I recieved in 2001, meant so much to me because Esther’s husband was helped by the same book that once saved my brother’s life.
Being able to share something so personal—and have it make a difference—was incredibly meaningful.

This was the letter announcing my promotion to Sales Supervisor in 1979 after transferring from San Jose to Los Angeles.
This was the modest salary I was earning after eight years with Pickwick—just one year before I met Kara in 1978.
I won honorable mention for the 1981 Supervisor of the year.

My resume
In 1983, this was the one and only résumé I ever had to write. Not long after, I landed a job with Blackbourn Packaging,
an opportunity that led to working with Disney as their video album manufacturer.
Resignations
These are the many resignation letters that I wrote over the years. The last one was resigning from my own company at 50 years old.
This was my resignation letter in 1982 after 10 years with Pickwick Records—a company that gave me an incredible foundation.
During that time, I didn’t just learn about sales and music—I learned how to run a business.
After five meaningful years at Blackbourn, this letter dated 1987 marked my farewell.
I was fortunate to work with outstanding customers like the Walt Disney Company,
and the experience left a lasting impact on both my career and personal growth.
This was my last resignation from my own company in 2004.

Dyslexic little Jeff Herman had just closed a prestigious account, and with it, reached a personal milestone:
crossing the $100,000 mark in annual commission for the first time.
Though it was just one project, this job gave Multi Media a small but memorable place in Apple’s story—
something we’ve always been proud of.
Receiving this letter in 1992 was incredibly meaningful. Blanchard Training and Development was the gold standard in motivation and training, so knowing we delivered for them felt like a real mark of excellence.
When AMS—the company behind Carleton Sheets’ No Money Down Real Estate course—delayed their next order, the pressure was on. They were at risk of running out of stock, and it was up to us to deliver on time. We made it happen, and the bonus that followed made the victory even sweeter.
