After retiring, I found myself wondering what my purpose would be.
What do you do after building, grinding, achieving?
I decided the answer was simple:
Organize adventures.
If nothing else, it would keep me connected to my old posse.
So we came up with a slightly ridiculous — and therefore perfect — idea.
We would climb to the top of Herman Mountain and plant our own Wilson soccer ball on a stick at the summit. Something we could look at from the house with binoculars and say, “We did that.”
It turned into a real adventure — hiking, hauling, laughing, questioning our sanity.
But in the end, Wilson stood proudly at the top.
Mission accomplished.
