Herman Hill

After selling Multi Media, I wanted to get the old gang back together for a proper adventure. Hiking to the top of the hill behind our house to plant a soccer ball on a stick — our tribute to Wilson — seemed like just the right kind of gloriously pointless fun. So Byron, Elva, Kenny, Rocky, his two kids, and I turned it into a full-on day to remember.

The hike was pure freestyle — no trail, no plan, just a hill and a lot of enthusiasm. What still amazes me is that with all of us scrambling through the brush, not a single person crossed paths with a rattlesnake. Truly a miracle, or maybe just dumb luck. Either way, Wilson made it to the summit, and so did we.
